9:15 – 10:30 AM               Session One: “How UAS (Drones) Are Helping Facilities Management Professionals Manage Better”

                                             Abstract:

This presentation will focus on best practices using UAS (Unmanned Aerial Systems, or drones) to create efficiencies in increase safety with projects such as:

·        Photovoltaic Array Inspections

·        Building Envelope Heat Loss Detection

·        Bridge Inspections

·        Sewer/Septic Leak Inspections

·        Topography Mapping

·        Reservoir Dam Leak Inspections, Spring Emersions

·        Volumetrics (Basin volumes, Pile quantities- Organics, Stone, Mulch, etc.)

·        Wind Turbine Inspections

·        Capital Project Mapping

·        As-built Mapping

·        Deer (and other species) Density Data Collection & Analysis

·        Street Light Inspections, Drain Inlets, Culverts, etc.

The presentation will educate about FAA compliance issues, application strategies, training approaches, costs, quality and safety. He will present real project examples and demonstrate how Facility Management Professionals are (or can) use this technology to their benefit.
