Director of Facilities Operations
Rider University invites applications for a Director of Facilities Operations who will plan, coordinate and direct daily facilities activities on both campuses including crafts and trades, custodial, grounds and cogeneration plant operations. Individual will also: manage various contracts related to the daily operation; have oversight over the Work Management System and the weekly evaluation of work order status; be responsible for the Preventative Maintenance Program; and work in conjunction with the Executive Director and Vice President for Facilities & University Operations for related services.
The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field along with 10 years of progressive experience in facilities operations with automated work order and building systems at an institution of higher education or similar environment. Individual must also possess: strong communication and leadership skills; the ability to manage in a fast paced and ever changing environment; experience in complex budget preparation and management; knowledge of safety and regulatory issues as they pertain to facilities operations; proven experience with and overseeing a Facilities Work Management System; experience in developing, completing and executing a Preventative Maintenance Program; and a valid driver’s license.
A Master’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Construction Management or related field and 12 years of progressive experience in facilities operations is preferred.
